Score (cut through the skin) trout by making four (4) vertical slashes, evenly spaced, down the side of the trout on both sides. After scoring, marinate the trout in lemon water (recipe below), in a glass or plastic deep-sided dish (do not use a metal pan) for 30 to 40 minutes. You may either submerge the trout, or soak one side at a time. Then you may fry, grill or bake the trout. To Fry: Dredge the trout through flour, coating both sides evenly. Season lightly with seasoned salt and black pepper. To prepare pan, put margarine or cooking oil in a pan large enough to accommodate the trout to a depth of about 1/8 inch, place pan on stove over medium heat. When margarine has melted or cooking oil is heated, place floured trout in pan. Cook one side to a dark golden brown. Turn trout over and cook the other side to the same dark golden brown. To Grill: Prepare grill and by spraying it with a non-stick coating. Spray same non-stick coating on both sides of trout. Cook over grill, until one side is a dark golden brown. Turn trout over and cook the other side to the same dark golden brown. To Bake: Lightly season the cavity of the trout with dill weed, rosemary and thyme. To prepare pan, spray non-stick coating on a glass-baking dish or on a sheet of heavy-duty aluminum foil. Place trout in pan and tent the pan with heavy duty aluminum foil or place on the sprayed heavy duty aluminum foil and tent it with another piece of aluminum foil. Place in oven that has been preheated to 375° and bake for 40 minutes per pound. Lemon Water: Extract the juice of one lemon. Add one quart of water. Box 231014 San Diego, CA 92123 858-279-2172 www.HUCK-FIN.com HUCK-FIN ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION The Improved Clinch is very easy to tie, which is the main reason it's so popular for connecting monofilament to terminal tackle. It's most effective on lines under 20-pound test. 1. Pass the line through the eye of the hook, swivel, or lure. Double back and make five turns around the main line. 2. Holding the coils in place, thread the tag end through first loop (small loop) above the eye, then through the second loop (big loop). 3. Hold the tag end and main line while pulling up the coils. Make sure the coils are in a spiral, not overlapping each other. Then let go of the tag and pull on the main line sliding the knot against the eye. 4. Cinch the knot down tight, Test the knot, and then clip the tag end no shorter then the width of the eye. HUCK-FIN Environmental Education Non-profit Fed ID# 33-0479034 P.O. First Position fingertip control- Helps to maintain proper position when casting, fighting a fish, reeling in the fish and staying balanced with the rod and reel. 2. Pull twelve inches- Helps you to create the leverage and whipping action you need in casting bait and/or lures. It helps you know and adjust to the proper drag setting for the pound test line and equipment your using. 3. Open Bail- Allows you to get use to putting the Bail in the correct position for casting. 4. Drop- Creates the proper fingertip control feel and release of the line. 5. Close Bail- Helps you maintain manual dexterity used in finding and closing the Bail without looking. 6. Slack line position- Teaches you to reel in excess loose line and also helps in finding and fixing tangled or knotted line. Leaves the line reeled tightly on the spool. 7. Reel almost to the top- Prepare you for the next cast or to place line in traveling position. HUCK-FIN Environmental Education Non-profit Fed ID# 33-0479034 P.O.
